4 of July with a dog that's terrified of fireworks

As you all know I'm a fur mommy to three doggies . One chihuahua , one corgi/jack russel , and Boxer . We didn't know that Juels (the boxer) was scared of fireworks until yesterday 3rd of July at night when people started with the fireworks .

She was shaking and trying to hide under EVERYTHING she saw around the house . It got so bad that she knocked down the dinning table !! We didn't know what to do since the next day things were going to be more loud .

It's 9:15 PM right now and she's freaking out . So what can you fur parents do to help your fur baby in situations like this ? Well we did this : We found the one room in the house that has no windows which was the bathroom . You can still hear the fireworks a little which still got her scared but we also put my sons DVD player in the bathroom and left it on with the volume all the way up . Also we left the shower running for a little bit so she couldn't hear anything at all but as we all know wasting so much water is not good for the environment or our pockets so our next option was to put our phone and connect it to one of those tiny portable speakers and left it on one of the pandora stations . Which also helped so much cause she couldn't hear any fireworks . We also put her water and food in there with her favorite toy .

Guess what ? It actually worked . She started calming down little by little and it was so awesome to see her relaxed and comfortable cause my dogs mean the world to me and I don't want them to be scared or uncomfortable with anything .

Has this happen to any of you fur parents ? This was a first for us but I'm glad we know now to be more prepared next time :)
